Service Description

Using the Orton Gillingham approach, we start with letter names and sounds, and build decoding skills from short one syllable words through multi syllable words. We work on both reading and spelling phonetic words and sight words. Students practice their reading fluency at appropriately leveled passages. They work on writing through sentence dictation and comprehension questions. In addition, using visual memory, specific comprehension techniques are taught and practiced. Starting with individual sentences and ending with chapters books, we work to develop reading comprehension and writing skills.
